From a recent participant of one of my programmes:

"I face my challenges with readiness rather than dread. I now have a reference to who I want to be and how I want to feel, and I know when I am in "my story" and how to let it go. There are no words to describe how important this work is. You just have to do it and find out for yourself!"

We're all living through new and for some, daunting times. Many, many people are worried about what the future holds for them and their families, friends, their businesses, their finances etc.

If you've found yourself here, perhaps you may recognise some of these scenarios:

- a lot of time spent endlessly worrying about what might happen.
- the inability to sleep at night

- acute body tension
- overwhelming feelings of stress, anxiety and sadness or grief
- becoming angry easily and then acting on these frustrations
- feeling like you're overwhelmed and unable to cope

Many people I've worked with are feeling the pressures of either too much work, combined with new scenarios such as home schooling, or boredom and frustration at not being able to do what they used to. Others still have lost their jobs or their businesses and are feeling stressed at this new work life situation. The aim of this course is to give you the tools to create a new relationship to stress and to life's inevitable ups and downs.

What is M.B.S.R?:

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course is seen as the "Gold standard" in Mindfulness courses, and is highly practical. During the 8 weeks you will learn about what stress is, why we have it and what you can do to help yourself. Training the mind to notice difficult thoughts and emotions, and rather than buying into them, you learn to allow them to come and go. From this new perspective life's challenges feel more surmountable. It also promotes better attention skills, more compassion towards yourself and others, and less reactivity.

Overall, the course is often helpful in dealing with an ongoing difficulty. The "problem" may not change (something that is possibly out of our control) but we can learn to relate to it differently and in this way begin to choose how we deal with life.

Practicalities of the 1-2-1 Sessions:
Both the downloadable meditations that accompany the course and the extensive Participants Handbook are included in the price. We meet online once a week for 1.5 hours. In the session we reflect on the work done at home, do a meditation practice together and explore the next week's theme. Like most things in life, you get out what you put in, and home practice forms a large part of the programme. You will need to commit yourself to building in and practicing each day both the meditations and the mindful practices.

Timings:

Sessions are online via Zoom, available at a time that suits you.

Computer connection and Space:

You will need an internet connection, be able to connect to Zoom, with a computer that allows you to share (so we can see and hear you and vice versa). You will also need to find a place you can be undisturbed for the duration of the 1.5 hours each week.
