Raising Teenagers: How Mindfulness Can Help You (and Them) Survive — and Thrive
If you're the parent of a teenager, you'll know the feeling well. One moment everything is fine, and the next you're navigating a slammed door, a three-word answer to a question you spent ten minutes carefully phrasing, or a 2am worry spiral about whether they're okay.
Parenting teenagers is genuinely one of life's most demanding emotional challenges. And yet, it's one of the least talked about in wellness circles.

Mindfulness in the workplace can sound like a soft option — a nice-to-have wellness perk rather than a serious business investment. The data tells a different story.
The cost of stress at work

How Long Does It Take to See Results from Mindfulness?
It's one of the first questions people ask before starting a mindfulness practice: how long before I actually notice a difference? It's a fair question — and the science has some surprisingly specific answers.

Mindful Eating: How to Transform Your Relationship with Food
Most of us eat on autopilot. Lunch at the desk, dinner in front of the TV, a handful of something from the cupboard without quite knowing why. We consume food constantly, but we rarely actually experience it. Mindful eating changes that — and the effects go far deeper than what's on the plate.
What is mindful eating?
Mindful eating is the practice of bringing full, non-judgmental attention to the experience of eating — the taste, texture, smell and appearance of food.

How Mindfulness helps lower Anxiety
With mindfulness you're practicing learning to not react to the "stressor". That stressor can be a concrete thing (like someone just crashed into my car), or it can be a thought. So, worrying about the thought "I don't want more anxiety" creates anxiety. A future fear is now a present moment experience. Mindfulness offers an alternative to this response: "Can I sit with anxiety and just watch it?"

Anxiety: Emotional Regulation Techniques
The party of our mind has many, many voices though and we can choose to move away and re-focus. Our negativity bias makes us hard-wired to listen to all the bad stuff so we can plan for the worst-case scenarios. But a calmer, happier way is to seek out what makes us feel calm and content. And that could just be one slow conscious breath.
